People sell their homes for different reasons. Whatever the reason, make sure that the price is right. In other words, don’t overprice your house with the intention of raising enough money to buy a car. Ensure that the price is fair to you and the buyer. A good price will get potential home buyers interested.

VA loans seem helpful for many home buyers. Although there is a drawback to these loans, I think it is well worth it because home prices almost always appreciate. You will be missing out if you rent your whole life...

Yeah, I want to buy a home right now. It seems so cheap. I hear that homes in Detroit are only $10k a piece due to the recession in the auto industry. Last year, I remember those homes were at least $100k.

It seems hard to get a construction loan these days. Do you know of any banks who still do them in the Florida area?

Yeah, this is a great method to pay off your mortgage. Saving $60,000 is a wonderful thing. If you put your money in a savings account, you will barely make up for the money you lost. However, many banks won't let you do this... as far as I know, since they lose money this way.

I agree, borrowing funds from your 401k for any reason is a bad idea, especailly with the way the economy is now. You will basically be selling your funds at a low price.

I would love to have more information on construction loans. We just purchased some land and are going to build a custom home soon. I'm not even sure where to start when it comes to construction loans. Thanks for the great information, I'll continue my research.
